Water Hemlock (Cicuta)

The water hemlock will be found on the edges of lakes, or marshy areas. It can get to being a few feet tall and is conspicuous with its umbels of white flowers at its top. Its leaves are compound pinnate. Its stems are hollow, streaked in purple; they exudes a yellow oily sap which smells of parsnip. All the parts of the water hemlock, particularly the roots, are poisonous.
