Key Events in the History of Nova Scotia: 1765.

  • May 21st, first regular agricultural exhibition held at Windsor.
  • In the spring of 1765, The Stamp Act was passed by the British parliament. It was to take effect on November 1st.
  • The Quartering Act of 1765. The act required the local authorities in the colonies, where barracks were not available, to find quarters for troops.
  • July, 1765: Edmund Burke becomes the private secretary to the Marquis Rockingham.
